Michele Parrish tradition of support

Personal experience is typically an individual’s first connection to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care. That rings true for local realtor Michele Parrish. Michele leads a real estate team in the Overland Park Keller Williams office. She has donated a portion of each closing check to Kansas City Hospice since she entered the business in 2004!

tradition of supportMichele’s generosity is driven by the care and compassion her family experienced on three separate occasions, starting when her great aunt received home hospice care from Kansas City Hospice. Michele was one of her aunt’s caregivers. She witnessed firsthand how hospice services support whole families during the end-of-life journey.

The love and support was palpable

Michele experienced this same compassion when her mother received home hospice support a few years later, followed by her father in 2017. Michele shares, “We once again called Kansas City Hospice for help caring for my father. While I cared for my great aunt and mom at their respective homes, we had my dad at Kansas City Hospice House the last two weeks of his life. In each case, I felt the support, care, help, and education for what was coming from every provider. From nurses to chaplains, the love and support was palpable.”

Michele has an affinity for giving back, She embeds that in the culture she creates for her real estate team. She requires each team member to give back to the community they call home by supporting a charitable organization of their choice during the year. For Michele, supporting Kansas City Hospice with a gift from each home sale she makes is an important way she can pay it forward to other families in our community, “I don’t know how I would have gotten through each of those situations without Kansas City Hospice.”

Michele holds licenses on both sides of the state line.  She and her team specialize in working with seniors, first-time home buyers, and even new construction.
