Support in schools and the community

KCH’s Solace House center for grief and healing provides collaboration with schools and organizations seeking specialized support following loss. An emerging area of work, we are currently providing:

  • Guidance and support for staff and families following a death or tragic incident among the school population
  • Assistance identifying youth in-need of grief support and connecting families to community resources
  • Facilitated grief support groups in school and community settings
  • Individual counseling for grieving kids during school hours

If you are a school or district administrator, or a school counselor, teacher, social worker or other professional in need of support, please call 816.363.2600 or email Dr. Iman Williams Christians at ichristians@KCHospice.org
