Sincere Thanks

We want to extend our sincere thanks to each of you for encouraging us to take our wonderful family trip to California. Your extra effort to have the shower seat and transport chair at the hotel made all the difference in making the trip a success. We hope you know how much Kansas City Hospice means to us. You give us the support and love we need.

What a Blessing

What a blessing you guys were. Thanks for your care and guidance!

I Found My Calling

My dad was a hospice patient in 2005 for a month before he passed away. Shortly thereafter, a lifelong friend invited me to assist on a KC Hospice fundraising committee. Today, I’m a full-time volunteer. Could I be any more thankful for this journey? No way, not in a thousand lifetimes. Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care is my calling, and I look forward to many more years of service.

A Wedding at Hospice House

My mom was not going to be able to attend my wedding because she was at Hospice House. The chaplain offered to marry us here in the chapel so my mom could be with us. Volunteers helped to provide bouquets and cake. I had a wonderful reception in the kitchen area. My mom’s favorite nurse Deanna even attended the service in the chapel and made sure my mom was comfortable. My family was very grateful for the staff and volunteers.

Gentle Care for My Mother

Thank you so much for your exceptional attention and thoughtfulness in the gentle care of my mother. The overwhelming feeling of peace and professionalism is such a comfort for both patient and family. This enables difficult times to become bearable.

A Tender Touch

Each and every one of the staff provided a tender touch, a warm hug, a conversation without feeling rushed, a smile, and a genuine overall concern for Mom and all of us.

Comfort and Peace

It meant so much to us to have our loved one stay at home during her last few days of life and without your staff it wouldn’t have been possible. You gave us comfort and peace knowing she was in good hands with the most compassionate, caring and loving staff that takes their job seriously. We will forever be grateful! Thanks a million!

The Nurses Were Like Angels

The nurses were like angels. We were so lucky to have them take care of my mom.

To All the Angels

All the Angels at Hospice House, thank you for all the compassionate care for my husband and our family as he journeyed to his eternal home two years ago.

The Very Best Care

I had never had an experience with hospice until my mother’s physician recommended the Kansas City Hospice House to our family. The care given to our mother was the very best. The compassion and kindness by the doctors and nurses helped all of us during this time. We were so relieved that she was there. We were able to have all of the family around her and her grandsons brought over things from her house to make it memorable for us all. I hope that every family who needs it can have this kind of experience and that’s why I think people should give their support.

Pets Are Part of the Family, Too

Carol Barnett is a patient care volunteer who developed a strong connection with a man and his beloved dog, Cheerio. By adopting Cheerio, Carol was able to help the dog owner find peace by knowing when he was gone, Cheerio would go home with Carol.

Your Help

I would have been lost without your counsel and help.

Compassionate Confidence

I’ll always remember your presence the morning my loved one died. You were the expert in knowing what happened and what to do. Your compassionate confidence guided me through the end moments with my loved one and mine’s 56 years together. When I get my own engine going one of these days, I’ll think of that moment — a quiet one — as a beautiful time.

Just a Phone Call Away

One of the best things about NorthCare was that they really listened to him and to me and understood what we needed. This made decision making a lot easier for us. Knowing that medical knowledge and support were just a phone call away let me focus on him and his needs.

How Could We Say No?

I watched a dear friend go through hospice with her son, and she was inspired with a passion to provide our community with a haven of rest, comfort, peace and expert care. When she asked Larry and me to help build the Kansas City Hospice House, how could we say no? We have been involved ever since, as have our children, and now our grandchildren.

His Life Was Beautiful

We are so grateful for your support during my dad’s last days. He was so relieved when we started Hospice. Your compassion and love for my dad made his last week’s dignified. His life was beautiful and so was his death, thanks to you.

So Grateful for the Care

You recently cared for my mother… We are so grateful for the care that she received from your wonderful staff and volunteers. Although it was a difficult time for our family, your caring and thoughtful staff was a great source of comfort to all of us. With thanks.

It Wasn’t Scary

The people who work here made it such a comfortable, warm environment that it wasn’t scary.

This is a Thank You

This is a thank you – not only to your organization but to all those great nurses who came to our home to care for “M” during his short bout with cancer. All the ladies who came were outstanding, professional, friendly, caring and would go to all measures possible to keep him going and to keep his pain down…You always responded when we needed you, no matter day or night, with supplies, encouragement, advice and comfort. Thank you again, you were all wonderful!
