Children grieve too

KCH grief support camps are available for families with children ages 6 to 17 who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Camp combines grief education and emotional support with fun recreational activities and creative ways to share and heal.

Day, overnight and weekend bereavement camps are led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers. At Camp Erin Family Camp and Camp Carousel, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and connect with peers who are also grieving. A time for families to:

  • Spend quality time together
  • Share memories and therapeutic activities
  • Receive support in parenting grieving children
  • Learn how to process their own grief
  • Connect with nature in a relaxing setting

  • Learn they are not alone

  • Honor and memorialize loved ones
  • Build a toolbox of coping skills
  • Have fun!
