When Families Grieve

Grief Support Children and AdultsA safe place for families to grieve & heal

When families grieve they face unique challenges helping children understand, cope and heal. Family dynamics can further complicate grief. Plus, if a death is sudden or unexpected, families may have the additional strain of trauma.

Camp Carousel offers fun, recreational activities and structured, creative opportunities to foster sharing and healing. The retreat features small group settings with professional staff and trained volunteers. And, there opportunities for families to spend quality time together.

Therapeutic activities include opportunities to share memories, learn about grief, and learn how others have coped. Parents and guardians can learn more about communicating with and parenting children who are grieving. Also, they can process their own grief in adult-only sessions.

Camp Carousel is a safe place for families to:

  • Tell their story in a safe environment
  • Learn they are not alone
  • Process grief in healthy ways
  • Honor and memorialize loved ones
  • Build a toolbox of coping skills
  • Have fun!
