Volunteering is 3 times blessed

When you volunteer:

1. You bless the organization you’ve chosen.

2. You bless the person or family you impact.

3. You give blessings to yourself.

Our 500+ volunteers at Kansas City Hospice will tell you that they receive as much or more from their efforts as do the lives they impact. Think volunteering with hospice is hard? It’s not!

Our volunteers find many, many ways to enrich lives today. They’ll tell you that hospice is not about dying, it’s about living.

During a recent episode of Senior Care Live, host Steve Kuker visited with David Wiley, President and CEO of Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, and Melissa Basgall, Manager of Volunteer Services, about the many benefits of volunteering and giving back to the community. We also heard from long-time volunteer Doris Lisenby, who has been volunteering with KCHPC for 28 years!

During this National Volunteer Week, we thank each and every volunteer who gives a few hours a year or a few hours a day.

The little things mean so much and volunteers do many little things and big things, too! Here’s what some of our volunteers have been up to this year.
