Volunteer at NorthCare Hospice House

Unique opportunities are available to volunteer at NorthCare Hospice House, located at 2800 Clay Edwards Drive, on the campus of North Kansas City Hospital. The inpatient facility provides a homelike environment and expert care for seriously ill people who are unable to stay at home. Volunteering at the hospice house is often a good option for working adults as our inpatient unit is open 7 days a week, including holidays. Opportunities are available in the evenings and on weekends.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Staffing the hospitality desk to answer guests’ questions and assist them
  • Hospitality volunteering, such as arranging flowers, baking cookies, tidying living areas, arranging flowers, preparing rooms for new guests, and preparing welcome bags
  • Special projects

Current openings for volunteer positions can be found on our Volunteer Application.

In addition, there are several community volunteer opportunities. For these, there is no application, commitment of training, or need to accept an ongoing assignment. You can respond to various crafting opportunities such as heart door hangers, memory keepers, or quilts or blankets, or you can serve a meal in our dining room. You can view our Community Volunteer Opportunities flyers for instructions for ongoing community service projects, as well as our latest meal serving and baking guidelines.
