If you are interested in one-time or community event volunteering, completing the application is not necessary. Please complete the Volunteer Interest Form (include link please) for community events and to be added to our email list that provides specifics on volunteering opportunities for Circle of Lights, etc.

No, training is not required for this type of activity. Please contact our group coordinator at 816.941.1095  or kchvolunteers@KCHospice.org if you would like to volunteer as an individual or as part of a group and come to one of our hospice houses to prepare or serve a meal, or bake items for families of patients. We will help you schedule a date and time to do so.

Yes, we have opportunities for students ages 16 and over at our hospice houses. We ask for a one year commitment from all of our volunteers, including students. Please click here for hospice house volunteer opportunities. 

Once screened and trained, patient care volunteers are matched with patients in the same general geographical area keeping the patient’s preferences and volunteer’s preferences into consideration. We have a Volunteer Coordinator in our Kansas office and also in our Missouri office that match volunteers with patients.

We are in need of professional hair stylists and massage therapists willing to donate their time (providing services twice per month on average). We are also in need of patient care volunteers interested in assisting patients in Kansas City, KS and the Independence and eastern Jackson County areas. We also are actively recruiting volunteers with military experience interested in serving in our We Honors Veterans program.
