Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions most asked by people inquiring about volunteer opportunities.

The first step is completing and returning the volunteer application. You are welcome to do electronically to kchvolunteers@kchospice.org or by mailing it to our Volunteer Department at 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy, Suite 200, KC, MO 64114. For an application, click here.

If you are interested in one-time or community event volunteering, completing the application is not necessary. Please complete the Volunteer Interest Form (include link please) for community events and to be added to our email list that provides specifics on volunteering opportunities for Circle of Lights, etc.

Once screened and trained, patient care volunteers are matched with patients in the same general geographical area keeping the patient’s preferences and volunteer’s preferences into consideration. We have a Volunteer Coordinator in our Kansas office and also in our Missouri office that match volunteers with patients.

We are in need of professional hair stylists and massage therapists willing to donate their time (providing services twice per month on average). We are also in need of patient care volunteers interested in assisting patients in Kansas City, KS and the Independence and eastern Jackson County areas. We also are actively recruiting volunteers with military experience interested in serving in our We Honors Veterans program.
