Assist Patients – Support patients and families during their journey through illness. Baking or Cooking at Hospice House – Help prepare meals for patients or bake goodies.

Top Drawer Resale Shop – Work in the fun, retail environment of the upscale, resale shop benefiting Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care. Wait on customers or help in the back room.

Memory Pillow and Bears – Volunteers who enjoy sewing use a favorite shirt to create a pillow or bear that will be a tangible keepsake for the family.

Lifetime Legacy/Lasting Conversations – Help patients and families record life stories and make lasting memories with either a video or audio recording. Read more.

We Honor Vets – We are looking for veterans interested in volunteering with our patients and their families. Our goal is to provide comfort and care to those who have served our country and are now facing a life-limiting illness. We are partners with We Honor Veterans and training is provided prior to matching veterans with patients in the Kansas City area.

Grief Support – Put your skills to work with children and families by helping our grief support specialists, Solace House, Camp Carousel and Camp Erin. Trained volunteers serve as co-facilitators at Solace House, helping lead grief groups that take place in the evening.

Extended Presence – When someone comes to the last 24-48 hours of life, specially trained volunteers may help staff provide support, whether holding a hand, listening to a family member reminisce or just providing a caring presence.
