2024 Series Schedule 

These virtual sessions are complimentary and focus on:  

  • Hospice & Palliative Care. These sessions are focused on services and support options for you or a loved one.
  • Skills for Your Life. These sessions are focused on what all adults 21 – 100 should know (insurance, terms (e.g. hospice, palliative, long-term care, etc.)).
  • Grief & Healing. These sessions are focused on how to talk about grief and death.

During each session you can connect virtually with community leaders and experts in the region.


Save the date for these upcoming 2024 sessions!

April 18 – Skills for Your Life Session – Melissa Basgall, KCH Director of Volunteer Services, and Bonnie Krause, KCH Volunteer Coordinator, present on the role of volunteers in hospice for Volunteer Appreciation Month.

May 16 – Grief & Healing Session – Panel discussion on Spirituality at the End of Life, featuring KCH Chaplain Ralph Testerman, Rabbi Rudnick, and former KCH Medical Director Dr. Ann Allegre.

June 20 – Hospice & Palliative Care Session – KCH President & CEO David Wiley hosts a discussion about the future of AI in hospice.

July 18 – Skills for Your Life Session – Bill Riek, KCH Associate Director of Gift Planning, presents The 5 Ws (and a bonus H) of Giving Charitably. In this session Bill will cover a few strategies to maximize the benefit of your charitable donations, both for yourself as well as the charitable organization. We will also talk about what motivates people give and why it is so important.

August 15 – Author and KCH volunteer, Marie Marley, presents Survive, Thrive and Create Joy as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver. This presentation will offer practical, down-to-earth tips for surviving and thriving as a caregiver, as well as ways you may be able to create connection and joy. Marie will also discuss developing coping strategies, getting along with difficult loved ones, and dealing with five especially difficult situations, including when your loved one should stop driving, needs nursing facility placement, doesn’t talk anymore, doesn’t recognize you anymore, or would benefit from hospice care. Finally, Marie will recommend some excellent books and other helpful resources for Alzheimer’s caregivers.

September 19 – Grief & Healing Session – A conversation about suicide awareness and prevention for National Suicide Prevention Month.
