Top Drawer – Leawood Resale Shop Celebrates a Milestone

Leawood, KS – December 13, 2017 – This Friday, December 15, a very special store in Leawood celebrates its 15th anniversary. Top Drawer is an upscale resale boutique that benefits Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care. With an all volunteer staff and all donated inventory, Top Drawer is a store with a mission. Many of the 35 volunteers serve because they had loved ones in hospice and they want to give back. Two of those wonderful volunteers have been there since the beginning. They come from all walks of life!

For the past two years something truly special has been evolving at Top Drawer. Volunteer Kathleen Corbin had the idea to take her skills with jewelry and turn it into a new product line. She takes old jewelry, cleans up and repairs the broken bits and breaks down the rest into components. Combined with new beads and supplies donated from all over the country, she then crafts one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. Broken brooches may become stunning necklaces and other bits become delightful bracelets.

Donations come from people all over the metro, including a group of retailers who often send over new merchandise that has not sold. Nothing donated to Top Drawer ever goes to waste. Anything that cannot be sold at Top Drawer is send to other charities with specific needs.

This Friday, Top Drawer honors all of its volunteers and celebrates with extended hours, refreshments and a special sale. Every visitor may take an extra 15% off the already fabulous prices.

Top Drawer is located at 9433 Mission Road in the Ranch Mart Shopping Center. Normal hours are 10 to 5:30 Tuesday through Saturday. December 15th hours are 10 to 7 p.m.

Donations of jewelry, gently worn clothing and home accessories are accepted during regular business hours.
