A Home Away from Home

Hospice care is usually provided in the familiar surroundings of home. But, sometimes the need for care gets more complicated and families can get overwhelmed. That’s why we provide this home away from home, where expert care is combined with beautiful surroundings and wonderful support for families — where every single person knows what you’re going through and is there only to help you.

We’re Here When You Need Extra Care

NorthCare Hospice House specializes in short-term care for medical problems that are too serious or complex to be managed at home.

Pain, shortness of breath, anxiety, or other distressing symptoms sometimes require a short inpatient stay.

Our care teams are expert in getting pain and difficult symptoms under control and, if stabilized, you may return to your home setting for continued hospice support.

Relief from the Stresses of Caregiving

Many families comment during their stay that they’ve been able to return to being a family instead of focusing on illness and caregiving. Our physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers work around-the-clock to assure your comfort. You can focus on your relationships and making the most of your time together.

Our Physicians

Our team of physicians are board certified in hospice and palliative care. Their expertise in managing pain and other distressing symptoms is focused on the goals that you and your family have set – on fulfilling your wishes and keeping you comfortable.

Payment

Services are usually covered by Medicare, Medicaid and some private insurance policies. As a not-for-profit organization, Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care is dedicated to serving all patients in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Our staff will assist families in determining reimbursement or need for assistance.

How Care Begins

When you, your doctor or healthcare provider call, we will send a nurse to visit you, evaluate your needs and answer any questions. Learn more about the admissions process.
