Bringing Food from the Outside

A family refrigerator is provided for families to bring in food for themselves and their loved ones. It can be stored in the refrigerator located in the family kitchen. All foods must be covered or in an appropriate container, labeled with the patient’s initials for identification and dated with a marker. Hospice House staff will provide labels and markers if needed. Families are responsible for removing items from the refrigerator on the third day past the labeled date. Items not removed by the third day will be discarded by Hospice House staff.

Please be courteous of other families who share the kitchen area. There may be as many as 16 patients in the Hospice House with visiting family members. When you are finished using the microwave, please wipe it out with a wet paper towel. Also please wipe off the kitchen counters when you are finished using them. There are paper towels and Clorox wipes on the kitchen counter.

Disposable plates, bowls, utensils etc. will be available in the family kitchen. A family microwave will be available for heating food. We ask that visitors using the family kitchen clean up after themselves.

There is a gas grill on the East side of the building that may be used by families. Families are asked to bring their own grilling tools.
