Les Pebley’s legacy of love. On a cold December day almost ten years ago, Lester (Les) Pebley, Kansas City Hospice board member Fran, and her husband Arnie had lunch with Kansas City Hospice staff. During their conversation Les shared that he and his deceased wife, Lil, began supporting Kansas City Hospice in 1997.
Annual visits with Kansas City Hospice staff became important to Les. They helped him understand how his generosity provided comfort and care to so many patients and families. Over the next six years Les told stories about his daughter, son, and grandchildren; and, about his faith and genuine concern for others.
Less than a year after that first lunch, Les shared that he had included Kansas City Hospice as a beneficiary in his estate plan. Les proudly added his name to the Full Circle Society legacy wall at Kansas City Hospice House. He knew it would serve as an inspiration to others and provide a lasting reminder to the community. Les believed with his whole heart in the Kansas City Hospice mission.
A legacy of love and compassion
Les died in the fall of 2016. His daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Joe have continued his rich tradition of helping others by supporting Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
During his life, Les created a legacy of love and compassion. That legacy lives on in the hearts of those touched by his generosity. These values are amplified by the tradition of giving that Les instilled in his family members. He has inspired the entire community.
Full Circle Society
The Full Circle Society honors those who have graciously named Kansas City Hospice as a beneficiary in their estate plan, such as a will, trust, insurance policy, or retirement account.
