Kansas City Hospice is certified to provide Jewish Hospice

Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care is accredited by the National Institute of Jewish Hospice (NIJH). We provide culturally-sensitive care to all people and honor the beliefs of each and every person.

What does this mean?

For many, the word hospice means pain control at the very end of life. But, the philosophy of hospice is not about death. Rather, it’s about life. It’s about living each moment to the fullest.

Hospice is a family-centered approach to care at the end of life that focuses on making every day count. Our team of experts bring as much or as little care as you want to you and your family. You may receive hospice care wherever you want to live.

Your hospice team will work with you and your family to understand what is most important to you and to honor your wishes

Working closely with the family, we bring different types of support based on each person’s needs and wants. We respect each person’s beliefs and we work to treat them with kindness, compassion and respect.

The NIJH works with us to help teach all members of our team about Jewish traditions, holidays and spiritual beliefs. Our chaplains work with people of every faith and we work closely with Jewish leaders in Kansas City to be able to anticipate needs.

If you have any questions about the types of care available at any point in your illness, please call us at 816.363.2600. And, we’ll be with you by phone or in person to answer your concerns.
