A Garden Soiree will Help Local Families
Kansas City, Mo., September 3, 2019 – Deborah Smith and Dr. Mark Myron have opened their lovely garden to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care on September 5. When supporters purchase Patron Tickets to Sunday Night Live, the signature fundraiser of Kansas City Hospice, they will receive an exclusive invitation.
This philanthropic couple has been wonderful supporters of Kansas City Hospice over the years. And, this year they have made a very special gift by opening their home.
Last year, Smith and Myron were Honorary Chairs of the Sunday Night Live Committee. They are still working hard to bring attention to hospice and to help Kansas City Hospice provide much needed care to families right here in our community.
Last year, donors and sponsors made compassionate care available to Kansas City families:
- 5,426 patients or clients were served across all Kansas City Hospice programs.
- $589,00 in care was provided for patients without resources to pay
- 91 children and family members attended Camp Carousel or Camp Erin (grief support camps) at no cost to them
- 63 little ones were cared for by the Carousel pediatric hospice team
- On any one day more than 3,300 people were receiving Grief Support Services
- 464 individuals received support at Solace House Center for Grief & Healing after the death of a loved one, most often due to suicide, violence, sudden death or illness
“Each year the Sunday Night Live Committee approaches area businesses, organizations and individuals to provide raffle prizes in support of our home town,” said Caryn Hohnholt, Vice President of Development. “Each year we are amazed by the generosity here in Kansas City, supporting end-of-life care for the area’s most vulnerable populations, especially children.”
Garden lovers will find a raffle prize too tempting to pass up. The Honey-Do Deal, one of the SNL Primetime Raffles provides Landscaping by Audrie Seeley & Co, Bee Organized for closets, handyman service from Remodel Moore and more. You need not be present to win!
