We know the unconditional love pets provide their owners is priceless for both you and your family. If you are living with serious illness, it might be difficult to continue caring for your pets in the way that you would want. Pet Peace of Mind ® ensures your family’s pets are well taken care of in your time of crisis. Whether furry, feathered or finned, you pets will receive the same kind of loving care you’ve always provided with the help of specially trained PPOM volunteers from Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care. If you’re receiving our services and need some extra help caring for the pets in your household, please let any of our staff know. We’re here to help you and the pets you love. Here are some of the ways we can help:
- Pet food and cat litter
- Exercise and play time
- Routine scheduling of veterinary care
- Transportation to veterinary and/or grooming appointments
- Pet boarding during patient hospitalization or 5-day respite
- Flea and tick treatment
- Heartworm preventive
- Pet waste management
- Assistance with long-term planning for your pet
Pet Peace of Mind® is designed to help provide whatever pet services are necessary to keep you and your pets together as long as possible. Just as in our care for people, we empower patients to make their own healthcare decisions for their pets and then help them carry out those decisions. Our specially trained volunteers are the helping hands to care for your pets, so you and your family can continue to enjoy your pet’s unending love.
