Hospice Volunteer Training
October 16, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Kansas City Hospice, Kansas City’s original hospice is looking for compassionate and caring volunteers to join our team!
This training is for people who wish to become hospice volunteers in homes anywhere in our twelve-county service area, or at the Kansas City Hospice House or NorthCare Hospice House. You must be able to attend both days of the training.
The various roles for this level of involvement are listed below. Volunteers who join our team must complete an application, go through a screening process, and train for the role in which they wish to serve. Right now, our greatest need is for people who would like to volunteer in patients’ homes, especially Monday – Friday.
Our volunteers:
- Provide respite, companionship and other assistance for a patient who resides at home or in a long-term-care facility.
- Support patients, families and the daily operations at our hospice houses.
- Provide professional services: attorneys, hair stylists, massage therapists and pet therapists.
- Assist a patient with his or her pet(s) through our Pet Peace of Mind program.
- Provide weekly administrative support at one of our offices or hospice houses.
Should you wish to become a part of our ongoing volunteer corps, please use the link here to complete and return your volunteer application.
Two days: Monday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 16, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day.
Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care is entirely local (including our board and management) and is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving the Kansas City metro area and the counties of Clinton, Platte, Clay, Ray, Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Jackson, Lafayette, Douglas, Johnson, Miami and Cass.
