Overview: Have you struggled with delivering bad news to patients or family members? Ever wondered why people always seem to say the wrong things? Come learn strategies for sharing difficult news, effective communication, and the benefit of humor in healthcare.
After attending this program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the 6 steps for the SPIKES protocol for delivering bad news and identify challenges in professional practice
  • Learn effective communication strategies around sensitive topics
  • Name the physical, mental health, and social benefits of laughter

The Kansas Board of Nursing approves Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care as a provider of continuing nursing education.
