About our Patient Assistance Fund

Bee Haley Fund for Patient Needs

KCH, with the generous support of the Mallin Family, established the Bee Haley Fund for Patient Needs in 2018. This Fund allows us to meet the “extra” needs of those we serve such as food, utilities, rent, hygiene, cleaning and other household needs. This fund helps improve quality of life and ensures health and safety for highly vulnerable community members who often fall through the cracks due to being isolated, homebound and medically fragile. The Bee Haley Fund has enabled KCH to advocate for those unsure of where to access help and serve as a critical community support for otherwise unreached families. Your donation will help meet the needs of patients who are facing challenges of both poverty and illness. It will also ensure those in our care are able to live with dignity, quality of life and economic stability.

Holiday Adoption Program

The holiday season is a joyous time to show your loved ones how much you care for them. However, for some it may be a particularly challenging time of year. The KCH Holiday Adoption Program is designed to make the season brighter for families in our care. Each year, caring community volunteers provide clothing, personal items, toys, food and gifts to these families. Once volunteers sign up, they shop from a wishlist and wrap the presents before delivering them to the KCH volunteer program. KCH volunteers and staff then deliver the gifts to individual patients, couples or families. We aim to sign up all shoppers during October and shopping will start toward the end of November and beginning of December. If you are unable to donate time to shop, you may help by donating funds to assist with this program.

Holiday Hugs – Stuff-a-Stocking for Kansas City Hospice

What’s better than seeing a smile on a patient’s face? With the help from our community, the KCH Holiday Hugs Program gives some additional joy during the holidays. While our patients living at home or in long-term care settings may not need a lot for the holidays, we  love to make them smile by giving them a stocking filled with treats and helpful items. Filled stockings or filler items can be dropped off at any of our locations by November 30. You may make a financial donation instead of purchasing items for a stocking.
