Big Dogs with Big Hearts

Big Dogs at Kansas City Hospice HouseWhen most people think of therapy dogs, they think of small or medium size dogs that walk with people who need extra care. But, sometimes comfort comes in a really big package. When you visit Kansas City Hospice House™ you may see one of its favorite volunteers, BossMan, with his handler, Sara Grier. At NorthCare Hospice House, Lilly and her handler, Alice Sharp, have trouble walking down the hall without stopping for many hugs along the way. Both dogs are gentle giants and they seem to know without being told which people are most in need of care and attention. They are beloved by patients, families and staff alike.

Update: We are very saddened to report that Boss Man has gone over the Rainbow Bridge. He leaves a proud legacy of service and of love. RIP Boss Man!
